Neoprene Rubber
Neoprene is considered a synthetic and was invented to replace natural rubber as a stronger and more resilient alternative rubber material. Durometer refers to the hardness of a material with the hardness increasing as the durometer increases. For instance, a 45A neoprene sheet will be significantly softer, more pliable, and more flexible than an 80A sheet which will be very stiff and hard.
Excellent Tear Strength
As an elastomer, neoprene is an elastic material; however, because it is a synthetic rubber, its tear strength is much better than natural rubber. Neoprene retains a high tensile strength which means it can be stretch out to great lengths without tearing or breaking.
